Analyses on face stability of shallow tunnel considering different constitutive models

چکیده

Based on the finite element limit analysis method, stability of face in case active failure under three constitutive models, Mohr-Coulomb model (MC), modified Cambridge (MCC) and Drucker-Prager (DP), were analyzed. The ultimate support pressure influence factors such as different burial depth ratios ( C/D ), cohesion c ) friction angle φ MC are also discussed. results show that safety factor obtained by MCC same is always smaller than model, difference largest when there no pressure. As increases, it will gradually approach model. When small, DP larger but large, final tends to be stable. It necessary select an appropriate according rock masses practical engineering. self-stabilizing performance not affected , increase with decrease linearly cohesion, angle. greatly hardly .

Study of convergence confinement method curves considering pore-pressure effect

The design of underground spaces is mainly carried out using empirical, analytical, and numerical methods. The convergence confinement method (CCM) is an analytical technique that is widely utilized in analyzing the stability of underground spaces. However, the main challenge in the stability analysis is the selection of an accurate constitutive model for rock mass, and particularly, its post-f...

Experimental investigation of face stability of shallow tunnels in sand

The face stability of shallow tunnels was investigated with small-scale model experiments at single gravity. Aim of the research was to detect the evolution of failure mechanisms in dense and loose soil samples with varying overburden above the tunnel. Moreover, the quality of proposed theoretical/numerical approaches for the determination of a necessary support pressure pf was assessed. The re...

Stability of Viscoelastic Filaments: Comparison of Constitutive Models

A thin filament model is used to analyze the stability of a viscoelastic thread subject to uniaxial stretching. Linear stability analysis is carried out for a number of different constitutive models, namely the Johnson–Segalman, Giesekus, Phan–Thien Tanner, and FENE–CR. Our analysis shows that stability is controlled by the competing effects of surface tension which is destabilizing and axial n...

Transferring Facial Expressions to Different Face Models

We introduce a facial deformation system that helps the character setup process and gives artists the possibility to manipulate models as if they were using a puppet. The method uses a set of labels that define specific facial features and deforms the rig anthropometrically. We find the correspondence of the main attributes of a generic rig, transfer them to different 3D face models and automat...

a study on thermodynamic models for simulation of 1,3 butadiene purification columns

attempts have been made to study the thermodynamic behavior of 1,3 butadiene purification columns with the aim of retrofitting those columns to more energy efficient separation schemes. 1,3 butadiene is purified in two columns in series through being separated from methyl acetylene and 1,2 butadiene in the first and second column respectively. comparisons have been made among different therm...
